#PVCFootball as an initiative aims to use football as a medium to encourage the youth to pick up their permanent voters card and ultimately vote. We have lined up a number of football activities to promote democratic participation of young people at the general elections from voters registration to collection of voters card, voting and ensuring that their votes counts. We have arranged viewing centres all around the country which admits PVC holders in free and offers freebies such as original football jerseys, free drinks etc. Further more we've created the #PVCFootball novelty match. Super Eagles 1994 and 2013 AFCON winners will be playing a PVC novelty match at the Legacy stadium, inside National Stadium Surulere, Lagos on the 9th of February 2019. Also artists Tu Face and M.I. would be performing on the day. The #PVCFootball match is free but spectators will be required to show their PVCs to gain entrance into the stadium.
Tap iNitiative collaborated with PLAY Forum, Abuja Global Shapers and Yali Network to host the State of Nation dialogue. The theme of the dialogue was, “engaging the Youth in the face of disunity”. We believe Nigeria hasn't been this divided since the civil war. Hence we put up this platform for a dialogue where we could attempt to amicably resolve the issues that are causing tension in the country.
It is against this backdrop that Tap iNitiative collaborated with the other NGOs to bring the leadership of Ohaneze Youth Forum, O’oduwa Nationalist Coalition, Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, Ijaw Youth Council and the Nigerian Youth Forum for the dialogue.
